In order to achieve an improved signal quality for the connection of VTRs, S-VHS cameras, DVD players, projectors and other multimedia devices, with the S-Video standard (also designated as Y/C and S-VHS) the picture signal is splitted into two components (luminance Y and chrominance C) and transmitted. By the use of a stranded wire as inner conductor and a very close spiral screen the cable is highly flexible with outstanding screen properties. Additionally the spiral screen permits a fast assembly with Mini-DIN connectors.
