This composite cable combines five video and three digital audio channels plus a three-strand power line. It is typically used for transmitting RGBHV signals but is also suitable for SDI, YC or composite video and can be used for applications such as video projectors and displays. If multiple devices are each connected with one of these cables, they can be powered from a single source in a star formation to minimize interference from the power supply. The five coaxial cables are made up of stranded bare copper wires each enclosed in physically foamed PE dielectric material and with double screening (AL foil and ultra-dense braided copper). The three balanced foil-shielded audio lines to AES/EBU standard are suitable for digital and analogue audio transmission and for control signals. The three power line strands each have a conductor cross-section of 1.5 mm² and are enclosed in an overall jacket.
