A robust metal housing holds a connector with four optical multimode or single-mode PC or single-mode APC channels, based on LC technology. The FO fibres are in physical contact when connected. The automatically closing protective cap with silicone seal provides protection from dirt and water ingress to IP 65 rating. Other features proven in practice include the push-pull lock and extra-strong strain relief. A multimode or single-mode cable with four fibers (4 x 50/125 µm, OM4 multimode; 4 x 9/125 µm OS2 single-mode), optimized for transmission rates of 10 Gbit/s over a length of up to 10.000 m in single-mode and 550 m in multimode. Its highly flexible design, featuring 500 μm primary coating and 900 µm tight buffered fibre layers, protects the conductors from external influences with an outer diameter of less than 6 mm while keeping bending radius to a minimum. The individual optical fibres are protected and separated by an extra thick acrylate layer. Ultra-low attenuation of less than 0.21 dB/km in single-mode and 0.7 dB/km in multimode guarantees best signal quality over the entire distance.
